About me

Reflexology and massage therapy is my main work in the field of complementary therapies. However, over the years Metamorphic Technique and Rosen Method were the therapies which influenced the way I offer treatments.

Professional qualifications:

FOOT REFLEXOLOGY: First encounter with reflexology was in 2003 during an intensive course at Revital Health Centre, Bucharest. Soon after, in London I learnt that the principles and technique of reflexology practised here were  different on many levels. In 2007, had qualified in UK, with a ABC Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology, Central London College of Reflexology.

I understand and practice, what I call the two main streams of reflexology: a more holistic, gentle approach practised in the UK and a more direct, with focus on the symptoms technique, adopted from China.

Member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR) which is part of the Reflexology Forum. This matches the National Occupational Standards for reflexology and is listed on the government approved National Qualification Framework.

MASSAGE THERAPY: At the end of 2008 trained as a massage therapist with Pure Massage. The training involved body massage, face massage, pregnancy massage, on site massage and face therapy. Our treatments at the clinic had a holistic approach and we practised the treatments following the 12 principles including breathing, intention, awareness, being present for the patient, flow of movements, precision just to name few.

At the beginning of 2011, at The Sanctuary learned a more “pampering approach” to massage and Aromatherapy massage which was very interesting. Have the massage certificate accredited by The Complementary Therapy Association (CThA)

FACIAL REFLEXOLOGY:  2010 had trained in  Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™ with Lone Sorensen, the developer of the therapy and Nikke Ariff, experienced holistic therapist and tutor of Facial Reflexology in Great Britain and Ireland.

This came about as getting over again intrigued that is always more to learn about reflexology.  It is a fascinating treatment addressed to people of all ages and especially effective for people with physical and/or mental disabilities. Due to its proximity to the brain the effectiveness of the treatment is in many cases greater than a foot treatment. It works on the nervous system and uses acupressure points even though only tip of the fingers are used over the face.

METAMORPHIC TECHNIQUE: In 2008 and 2010 completed the training in Metamorphic Technique and Universal Principles taught by Gaston Saint Pierre. This is the only technique where through the whole hour a very light touch over the feet, hands and head is practised. The main principle which is detachment and the only technique where there is no need of a  health questionnaire of the client. It works on a energetic level. The effects of the MT are cumulative and observed in time and varies widely from emotional to physical levels. Before a treatment is recommend a 15min tester session.

My approach to give treatments has changed considerably over the years. I trained in other therapies and also had numerous treatments myself. This was all part of learning how to develop the best massage technique and which reflex points are the “magic” ones, in order to make the tension dissipate, to “fix” or “cure” the person.  Little did I know it was not about fixing people, even though most of them were voicing that very word.

Until now, from what I could observe, there are two types of clients coming for a treatment, either reflexology or massage: 1% will come for relaxation and 99% will have at least one physical problem like stiff neck, tense shoulders, lower back pain, headaches, TMJ, poor digestion, swollen feet. Surely after just one session, the ache/discomfort would disappear or at least muscles will loosen. However, the trouble was that these clients were coming back after some time, if not with the same problem, then other part of their body was aching.  And this is what encouraged me to do more research in what other therapies had to say about effective ways to get to the core and deal with these physical problems and have long lasting results.
Two methods stood out in the findings, both asserting that to solve a physical tension far more than just a very good technique is needed.  The Rosen Method training  was about “listening touch” or feeling what happens right under my hands and adapt the general massage elements to what is needed for that particular person, at that particular moment. Rosen Method is 1% technique and 99% loving, caring and compassionate touch.
The second one is the Metamorphic technique which states that a therapist should not have any intention when applying this technique. The innate life force of the person knows best and all I have to do as a therapist is stay detached. My role is to be there, to be present and assist you into your personal journey without interfering while offering the space for transformation.

To conclude, the massage and reflexology treatments I offer will surely take care of you as a person by combining massage and reflex points, and most importantly focusing on the quality of touch. For I believe, as well as many other therapists and scientists, that our bodies have a memory of everything that we have experienced since the moment of conception. And as a therapist I am not only working on muscles, tissues, cells but all these contain your feelings, your experiences and there I am having a chance to help you into your journey of becoming the best of what you can become, letting go of emotional blockages.
