As many other complementary therapists I try to keep up to date with new therapies and readings and inform myself as best as I can.
“Adrenal fatigue – The 21st century stress syndrome”, by James L. Wilson
This is one book I recommend to people when a vicious circle of stress, poor eating habits, tiredness is installed and the person may feel a bit trapped in what to do and where to start when it comes to change a few habits in order to get back on track with peaceful, happier life.
The pH miracle – balance your diet, reclaim your health, by Robert O.Young PhD and Shelley Redford Young
There are not enough words of appreciation for this book. It is an amazing book and can change one’s life for good and better.
It is all about this wonderful pH balance which each of us should maintain in order to have good health. It is about the pH balance between acids and alkaline foods.
You will find ways to get motivated, you will get to know how to do a Cleanse, you will learn why grasses are so good for you. The authors will explain why sugars are so harmful for you and how to stop being addictive to them. You will end up doing your own sprouts and I can guarantee that it is such fun and a good way to know you are eating the best that nature can offer to you. The colours and shapes of these wonderful seeds and beans would make you never go back to less than the best quality for your meals. You will discover that through good, nourishing food our energy levels are increased.
Also, Alexander Lowen’s books are a “must” from my point of view, for massage therapists even though the therapy he’s researching is bioenergetics. Wilhelm Reich, a psychoanalyst and another inspiring author and will take you into the deepest meanings of touch and how people are influenced over their lives by its presence or absence. His books made a dramatic change in my massage technique. Also his discovery, the orgone accumulator did not stop to amaze me until this very day.
Molecules of emotions, by Candace Pert is one book if in any doubt that touch still needs to scientifically provide information that improves physical and mental strength. I shall come back to these latter books in future articles.
