Face reflexology Sorensensistem treatment
A session of facial reflexology involves the stimulation of neurovascular points and reflexology zones on the face and cranial lines on the scalp in order to rebalance the whole body. The therapist uses cream or oil with Rosa Mosqueta after the cleansing of the face. The stimulation is done using the finger tips and pulling away from each other over the skin tissue in a specific order following different maps on the face.
The treatment is a combination of acupuncture points with Vietnmese and South American body maps, cranial lines and points with 564 neurological points on the face. It works similar with foot reflexology whereby these points and body maps relate to organs and systems in the body and by working them in a precise manner will bring the body into alignment and good health.
A session lasts 50-60min time in which every inch of the face is stimulated (apart from the eyelids). It involves 7 basic steps and at least 4 other additional steps which are chosen depending of the person’s health problems.
The benefits of the therapy are numerous starting with deep relaxation as endorphins are released to balance the entire body. The therapy has also a rejuvenating and uplifting effect and people experience a state of deep rest after the session.
Facial reflexology is safe and gentle and suitable for all ages.
Step 1
Starts off with stimulation of the neurovascular points by making circles over them; these points are related to the nerves of the central nervous system (CNS) and also corresponds with the 7 pairs of Chinese meridians.
Step 2
Constitutes long smooth movements following the South American Indian map which activates the nerve endings of the CNS connecting each area on the face with the organs of the body through meridians.
Step 3
Involves more rapid small movements following the Vietnamese map whereas every area corresponds with a pair meridian of the body.
Step 4
Stimulates the 12 cranial nerves of the sensory and motor cortex of the brain. Is learnt again from Vietnamese doctors.
Step 5
Maps the whole physical body on the face. In this way all the muscles, tendons, joints and spine are influenced.
Step 6
Brings back the neurovascular points which are slightly different stimulated the result focusing on the lymphatic drainage.
Step 7
Works at the psychological level by bringing into balance the 2 hemispheres of the brain which will result into emotional balance.
It is highly recommended before and after the treatment to have plenty of pure water and the client should keep a healthy regime with nourished food, breathing exercises and stretches during the course of the sessions.
The client should also be aware of few reactions which can possibly happen after the first session:
- general discomfort
- dizziness
- nausea
- frequent need to urinate
- perspiration
- tiredness
– shivers (esp if you suffer of low blood pressure)
- tickling sensations
- aches
All these are temporary reactions and can easily be prevented by keeping hydrated (consider that even a small coffee can disrupt the hydration level in the body and if that happens then should be balanced with the double amount of water). Also, any stimulants like alcohol, smoking, consuming soft drinks with sweeteners etc can be a barrier to the success of the treatment.
