Are we affected?

As reflexologists are we “protected” of aftereffects of the treatment we offer?
My sincere opinion it is surely, yes. And in the following article I bring my arguments for this.

I, personally like to copy the belief that we are catalysts which it is practiced in other therapies. If the idea is that there is a change of energies with the patient, it is about the energy our patient “is charged” with from the Universe through us. This does not mean we are depleted of our own energy.
Some therapists may say they feel tired or have pain in their back or hands. It can happen but if we use simple techniques like the visualization of ourselves in a egg, for example with time all we will feel is joy and happiness for given a wonderful treatment.
We can as well finish the sessions with some healing for few minutes and then shake our hands off all that we can call “negative vibration”. As well, when we wash our hands we can do it with cold water as it is believed to flush all the “symptoms” our client may have.

I would like to think that all the therapists will have the peace to practice with joy and not concerned of their our health. Not that I am saying their own health is not important. It is about the fear I found in others, who just started to practice, and I think if someone gets to give a treatment is better to be well in herself/himself before starting.
I recommend Crystal healing and Reiki for which I had four sessions to help me become even a better catalyst and the results were awesome. For my physical body was a great relief as I held resistance on different emotional issues which resulted in imbalance in my body. After each session I also felt connected again with what we call the Universal Energy and had feelings of great harmony and peace. I have learned how important the alignment of energy points or chakras is and about our amazing subconscious mind.

I recommend meditation which can help therapists to better come into a state of calmness once they start the treatment. It is imperative for the therapist to acknowledge the problems the client has got but to be detached of them during the treatment. Afterwards, what I chose to do is to take notes of the information given by the patient and gather all the “solutions” I may think can help and returned it back.
Holding on the sadness or concerns for any problems of our clients can only blur our mind making us incapable to bring the least solution for him or her.

Wishing all of you good practice.
Iuliana
