Reflexology session description

Reflexology is the technique of applying gentle pressure over the reflex points found on feet and hands in order to stimulate the body’s own healing capacity. Reflexology promotes relaxation and helps the person to return to a state of balance and well-being. The intent of stimulating these reflex points is to eliminate obstruction into the energy channels that are presumed to cause pain and disease, according to Louise Keet and Sala Horowitz.
Through human touch interaction, reflexology helps to release stress and tension, improves circulation and digestion, strengthens the immune system. It is frequently used to assist post-operative recovery, to clear the body of toxins and encourage the body to heal current disorders.

I do reflexology for elderly people and women as I have the experience in working with this group of people. I am interested to develop my skills as a therapist by helping with their particular health problems.

The sessions are carried out in my clients’ homes or offices and last an hour. The recipient needs to sit or lie on a comfortable reclining chair or armchair and socks and shoes will be removed. During the first session I will be taking the medical history of the person so that I am able to give a proper treatment. Throughout the sessions I will keep a record of general nutritional advice I may give and note any changes or improvements made to your physical or emotional health.

I use for my treatments talc-free powder but I tend to change it depending of the texture of one’s skin with aromatherapy oils or ointments made from organically grown herbs.
